By Mike Sharkey | Jun 1, 2011 New action platformer from Runt created through IGN's Indie Open House. You might recall the Indie Open House our friends at IGN launched in September, a project providing resources and support for would-be game designers. Well, we're happy to report the seeds sown by that project are beginning to bear fruit, and one of the first games to blossom is physics-based 2D platformer, Rapscallion.

Created by Runt, Inc., Rapscallion puts players in the role of Ransom Wylde, a free-running adventurer trying to uncover the mystery of his Neo Victorian world. Check the beta demo trailer:

"Runt plans to release many demos before the final release of Rapscallion," CEO Tobias Batton said. "It's an excellent way to get feedback from our fans as we progress in the production of our game. We are excited about the opportunity to work with Fileplanet and IGN for our first release, and extremely excited to gain valuable feedback from our fans on the direction of our game."

Download the beta demo now at Fileplanet, and let the devs know how they're doing. You could you see your input incorporated into the game in time for its early 2012 release on Windows PCs, Mac OS, and potentially consoles.

Sharkey says: Nice work by IGN, putting on the Indie Open House without pushing any binding or prohibitive contracts on participants. And Rapscallion is looking good, Runt. I'm downloading the beta demo now and look forward to some parkour action.Get the latest gaming news delivered to your inbox.
