Phantasy Star Online was a highlight of the Dreamcast's lineup. Now it seems an official sequel is finally on the way.

Sega released this four-minute video of Phantasy Star Online 2 today.

From it, we can determine a number of things:

The story appears to be just as indecipherable as the original game.Gameplay looks pretty similar to the original, though with an expanded hotbar at the bottom offering access to more than six abilities at once.It looks like there's still a four-player limit. You can jump!Gunplay looks to be significantly less clunky and more like a third-person shooter. It has a dynamic weather change system which Sega seems to be very pleased with.It also has "abrupt cut-in events" which appears to be a fancy term for cutscenes in missions. The game's tagline is "infinite adventures."

The game hits PC later this year. Closed beta testing is set to begin this summer in Japan. A Western release of the game hasn't been confirmed, though the addition of English text to this trailer suggests it's possible.
