Rumour has it that the entry level NGP, or PSP 2, from Sony will have half the RAM previously suggested. An article from 01net hints at Sony dropping half the RAM in the entry-level model so that it can compete against the pricing of the Nintendo 3DS.
The version in question is the NGP without 3G connectivity. The RAM for this model is said to drop from 512mb to 256mb.
Following this, the 16gb internal flash memory for storage is also said to be less than previously suggested as Sony will opt for an external system, similar to the PSP’s memory cards.
All of these details, including the original figures, have been revealed via industry leaks and careful planning from Sony. So what actually happens, we’re not too sure. And because of this, we’re filing this bit of news under rumours.
